Hi Everyone,
Newbe and first post! While waiting for the new Kubota grand L series, I am deciding on which to compare against it. I have two MF dealers who seem very competent. The NH dealer a little less so, but not much. He also sells ATV's and Snowmobiles where the others are strictly farm equipment dealers. My quotes seem high. ($20.5K for the MF 1250 hydro with woods loader & R4 tires, $18.2K for the NH 33D with 7308 and R4 tires). The NH has better hydraulics and is better equipped with mid PTO, quick adjust 3-pt, tilt-telescoping wheel. The 33D comes off to me as a better tractor and value even if the prices were equal. $2300 difference in the NH favor and it's hard to justify the MF! Am I missing something? The pricing seems way high on both models compared to other posts I have read (I'm in the North East) Comments??

Thanks for looking

Russ

BTW: Kioiti is out because of no hydro and poor dealer network, JD price too high and don't trust electronics.

Hey Pacesetter,

Kind of a gross assumption there about the Kioti dealers,eh? I've run into alot more boneheaded major dealers than small brands, and I run ag-tractors that have to work when they are needed.

Not really sure why you guys have to have that security blanket of a dealer right next door!! I'm my estimations if you do your homework and buy a dependable well engineered, and built tractor to begin with, you might just find you only need a dealer for filters!!

But back to your original price question. For some reason Massey of late has upped the prices across the board for their tractors. Not sure why though.

I don't know what Kioti dealers you were at but mine has been great !!
I checked prices at 3 differant Kioti dealers before my purchase and was treated very well at all..

I also was considering the Massey last year when I bought. It just seemed like older technology compared to the New Holland. Although I liked electric pto clutch. I am very happy with my choice. I have almost 200 hours on my NH TC33D in 1 year of ownership with no problems whatsoever so far. The price quote you got was definately high. In fact about $500 more than I paid 1 year ago and probably about $1500 or so more than you can get it for now. Good luck in your decision.

Hello Russ,

2 Months ago I was in the same happy spot as you; getting ready to buy a new tractor. I looked long and hard at the Massey 1433/1250, then the Kubota L3010, the JD 4310, the NH TC33D, Kioti DK35 and back around again.......

After comitting myself to Hydrostatic trans., I came down to JD or Kub. Nothing against the NH, just couldn't stand the local dealer. With help from TBN members, reading threads and users experiences, and getting on top of all of them, I bought the Kub L3010HST and love everything about it. I also think there isn't a bad choice in the bunch. You'll be thrilled with what ever you bring home.

For me, it came down to the little things. I was happiest with the deal I got and the dealer I dealt with. You still have to ride 'em all. I ended up buying the one I liked sitting on the best. They're all great to look at and they'll all do the job well. I wonder if there are good deals to be had on previous generation Grand Ls since the release of the new line.

Good luck!,
Jon
