MF 135
I just got a MF 135, Diesel, and I am having some trouble with it.

The FEL wouldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding, and I was wondering if this is normal or is there something I could do to increase it's lifting power.
The FEL controls are leaking, so I imagine that this may have something to do with its poor lifting performance, does anyone know how to fix the leaks from the controls?

I haven't come to grips with the Draft Control and the Raise Lower controls, can someone explain it to me in simple language?

The generator has Sh*t itself, I can get another genny but I thought I would try to fit an alternator instead, can anyone tell me how the Delco SI/10 single wire alternator goes a low speed, I thought I read that they don't work as well as other at low speed, and can anyone tell me where I can source one in Oz?

Welcome Michael - I am sure other will chime in but off the top -- which FEL and controls do you have -- is it a front pump model or run by a diverter under the seat -- pics would help
If you put on an alternator you probably will not have a tach but in terms of a straight forward alternator install use a 3 wire and you will not have to worry about the low rpm excite. Do a search on here for alternator conversion there have been a lot of threads and debate on the topic.
I will try and remember to bring home my operators manual this weekend and post an excerpt of the 3pt operation

Fitting a single wire alternator is easy. Main hassle is changing the ignition switch to turn on/off power to the alternator. The tacho is mechanical on the old MF135 and is not affected. Later MF models had it driven from the generator or alternator.

"The FEL wouldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding" LOL thats funny. Wish I could help more, I dont have a FEL on my 135, but it does sound like a hydraulic pressure problem somewhere in the line. Pressure my be being bypassed. Like a previous post has said, pictures will be helpful in determining what type of pump system you have. Good Luck! TB

Hey guys just reading through and about the single wire alternator, I installed one and there is no low speed charging and this alterator was completely rebuilt. I found that the engine has to hit the pto speed on the tach for it to start charging. And when it idles down the the charging drops off. I had to put a battery disconnect on so it would drain the battery. Looking into the three wire alternator in the spring.

I think there are special alternators that will charge at lower rpm's. Delco, I don't know the model number though.

Thanks all of you for your info!
The hydro pump is one that is out front of the engine.
The tacho drive is not a problem it is mech. driven and doesn't work anyway.
I am also now having problems with the 3pt linkage, it doesn't want to lift much at all, any suggestion as to this issue?

I have attached some pictures of the beast to this message, hope they help!

Definately not a factory type FEL:D:D
With your latest post about the three point I am wondering if the FEL and tree point are using the same reservoir for fluid? If so is there actually fluid in there?

Yes, both the 3pt linkage and the FEL use the same reservoir for fluid, but I have filled it up, it was low, but the 3pt is still not working properly, the FEL works OK until you fill it up with dirt then it won't lift it.

G'day Michael first thing, for your alternator find your nearest Bare co distributor they make one esp to replace the genny, also you may want to check them out for an owners manual, as for your linkage not working that may be something to do with your lever position, as for your loader problem i think you may want to check your relief valve setting or get someone to check for you should be approx 2-2500 psi. Hope this helps
By the way love the roof on the rops
