Hi

I am new to this I have a MF135 as a scrapper tractor on the farm. Around a year ago they lift arms got really slow to lift the scraper. So I thought it would be the hydraulic pump. So I removed the pump took it to my local MF dealer and the reconditioned it fitted new seals and set it up. Refitted the pump still no better. Off with the top cover fitted new seals to the lift cylinder in the top cover thinking the seals would be the problem put it all back together with fresh oil still no better have worked away with it being slow since then but a lower link pin broke today so was wondering If there is anything I could do or try when I have the top cover off.

Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, welcome to another new member and fellow MF owner.
Did anyone check the condition of the filter at the oil inlet to the hydraulic pump? They are the only means of filtering the gearbox/hydraulic system oil. Mine became sufficiently blocked to almost stop the 3pl from raising. It is accessible from the RH side cover and while it is washable, a new filter isn't costly. It is strongly advised to renew the oil on completion - approx 28 litres. Several threads in this section will guide you through the removal and refitment procedure.
By a lower link pin, do you mean the forward mount for the lower lift arms? I broke one in our MF 40 - a similar tractor to our (and your) 135, and removed tha axle housing to renew it. I also needed to work on the brake on that side, so I did both in one job. I don't believe it is possible to renew that with only the top cover removed. I also reckon it is no more difficult to remove the wheel and axle casing, just need a few extra muscles.
But we need pics of your 135 - one of the best models ever built. Look after it. Cheers! :drink:

Hi

The filter was cleaned out and the oil had been changed at the time it will also get changed again and the filter will get a good clean. Yes I can see now I have had to remove the halfshaft to change this pin. I have also found the lift pipe had a back up ring missing which I have ordered new orings and backup rings although I don't think this will solve the problem I am waiting on the new parts arriving an going to get it back together will keep you posted

The seals on the delivery pipe - vertical pipe from the pump to the top cover - may be the cause. Remember, you need remove only the small cover, with two bolts, on the front RH side of the lift cover to remove the riser pipe.
Also - does your tractor have a 2-stage clutch? If so, does the PTO drive properly? It's very unlikely, but the 2nd stage clutch may be faulty.

I am not sure if the pto works correctly as it is never because it is always on a slurry scraper. I am waiting on the new lower link pin and going to try rebuilding it all to see what happens

I finally got all the parts I was waiting on and got it rebuilt over the weekend. The PTO works correctly I left the side cover off so I could operate the lift arms manually with my hands. When I do this the arms raise at the normal speed that I would expect therefor I believe the pump is in good working order. As soon as I let it go it goes slow again the one thing I did notice is that the arm on the lift linkage that comes down to operate the arm on the pump when I put it in the up position it goes right back until there is weight on the arms then as soon as the weight is on the arms the lever goes forward slightly which I am thinking shuts the pump down making the arms raise slow any suggestion on what may be causing this to happen?

Be careful here: there are two different types of hydraulic standpipes on MF 135. One is a straight tube and withdraws easily by first removing the transfer plate. The other has a transfer block and can only be removed by first removing the top cover. Be sure which one you have before you try to pull it out!
