Massey Ferguson 135
Hi folks, I have been reading this forum for a while and just joined. I own a Massey Ferguson 135. Don't know what year. it does not look like most of the ones I see on here, It has square fenders over the back tires, and my head lights are built into the fenders. It also has 2 different settings for the PTO. Ground and 540. I know what they do but I don't know why I have both. I quess I am just wondering if anyone can tell me why mine does not look like the rest that i have seen. My seriel # is 9AT33880 if that helps.

The tractor seems to be losing power here lately as well. Just having to use lower gears to do jobs that used to be done in higher gears. Also my clutch is not working to control the PTO, I have to crank it with the PTO engaged or it wont go in, And once it is engaged and running, stepping on the clutch will not stop the PTO from spinning at all. Just looking for some insight, I love the ole tractor, but just want to get it back right again. Thanks for any information guys. This is a great forum.

Your 135 is a 1972 model, the "T" in your serial# is actually a "1", most all the 100 series tractors have the ground and engine speed PTO. The "square" fenders with inset lights is not uncommon on the later models.
Your clutch pedal is either way out of adjustment or the PTO clutch need resetting or the clutches are ready for replacement. This is one of Big Deans
diagrams showing the procedure for adjusting the pedal and the PTO clutch. Try this first

The 540 pto setting is for pto-driven implements like mowers.
The ground pto setting is for pto-driven implements like planters and seeders.

I have a 1964 MF135 diesel deluxe model with multipower. The pto clutch needs to be replaced and the multipower tranny needs service. I'll get around to splitting the tractor someday and getting this work done.
