Hi All,

Just got a 1523 Hydro today, and will soon be getting a Wallenstein WX 310 log splitter. We did not get the pedestal mounted controller, since the splitter has a controller on it.

What I wanted to know is, can we simply put quick connect couplers on the lines coming off the hydro, located under the right running board, and run the splitter that way?

Is it really that simple?

TIA,

Will

Glade you got that 1523. I know you will like it.
Can't help with the connections. They have changed them from the manuals that I have. Did you get a loader? The loader and backhoe manuals usually have quite a bit of hydraulic information in them.

Thanks Jerry. No, we did not get a loader, nor did we get the pedestal mounted controller. Just wondering if plumbing it direct was possible, or what was involved. SO a hydraulic manual, like a loader manual would be of help?

Thanks,

WIll

My loader and backhoe manuals have a good amount of hydraulic information in them. They show enough information that you could figure out how to hook things up, at least the 1200 and 1400 series manuals do.

So whcih manual should I get? Loader will be enough, or back hoe too?? And I also need parts & Service manual too.

That "U" shaped tube is probably the connections that feed the loader valve, and if that's the case-then you can use them to feed the splitter. BUT, there will be hydraulic oil flowing whenever the tractor is running so make sure the lines are coupled back together when the splitter is off the tractor. Also make sure the hoses and QD's are sized properly for the amount of flow your pump generates, probably 1/2" will be adequate.
