Looking for opinions on the MF 1523. I had considered the JD 2305 and Kubota 7510 but looks like the MF is a much better tractor. I am planning on getting a FEL, finish mower, box blade and auger. I only have 5 acres with 2 acres of mowing to include sodded area along with some woods that I want to clear some underbrush and a road to maintain that goes to my pond. Thanks in advance!! Looking to get this soon.

I wanted to look at the 1523 about a year ago, but couldn't find anyone in central ohio that stocked them. I got the impression MF doesn't move a lot of this model. If you look at the lift capacities (3pt and FEL) you'll see they really don't compare very favorably w/ like priced competitors (JD 2320, NH TC23, etc).
The dealer I spoke with indicated they could sell me a 1528 for less than a 1523 since they had the 1528 in stock. If the $ is the same, you might try taking a look at the slightly larger 1528 if your're looking for a gear tractor or go for the 1531 if you're looking for a HST. If you're going to get a HST transmission, I recall the 1531 is only like 400-500 more than the 1528 HST and the HST is standard on the 1531. The 1531 I believe uses the same engine as the even larger 1533.
I ultimately went w/ a JD 2520, but still think the 1528 and larger MF's are a lot of tractor for the $.

You may want to try out the 1528, I did, and haven't regreated it for anything, I got the package dear here in oklahoma.
06 1528, FEL, box blade, mf 1005 brush hog, and 16' trailer, $17,000.00-
out the door.
I made the best choice, for myself and haven't looked back.
