Hello. This is my first posting but have used this forum to help make a decision on buying my Massey, and trying to get familiar with tools and tricks you experienced owners have. I just got a hydraulic hose leak on my MF 1520 FEL while trying to dig out a stump, and my internet search for parts has come up short. It is the 3/8" flexible hose to the top of the left tilt cylinder. I have also been trying to find an oil and hydraulic fluid filter since I am about 30 hrs past the 50 hour changeout. If I could find a parts and a shop/ service manual, that would be very helpful as I get more use out of this awesome tractor. I have never owned a tractor or a diesel before, so any tips would be appreciated on my first round of home maintenance.
Thanks!:)

since your tractor is still under warrentee, wouldn't it be better to take it in to the dealer ? I had my 1528 done at 50 hrs and only cost $100.00, any auto parts place can put a new end on the hydro line for around $5 bucks.

If it is still under warranty and you didn't damage the hose, let the dealer replace it. Or at least have them give you one to replace it with. The best place to get manuals is at your dealer. They are the best and are the least expensive manuals of all the major manufactures. As far as filters, if you want to order them on line, you can get them at Jacks Small Engines. They don't have your model on the listing, but I am sure if you emailed them that they be glad to help you. They are less expensive than most dealers.

I second Jerry. The genuine MF manuals are the best ones out there. The other ones are not worth the money. Your local dealer can help you out. If you don't want to buy your filters online, get them from your dealer also. Well worth it.

Can't help with the hose, but here are the Agco part numbers for filters, as well as the price I recently paid at my dealer:

Engine oil: 72201898 $12.85
Hydro oil: 3703386M1 (superseded 3609567M1) $17.85
Air: 3607884M92 $36.45
Fuel: 3608255M1 $5.15

Hope that helps

If your gonna change hydraulic oil in it yourself, find the thread about bleeding the hydraulic lines/pump BEFORE you start. That way when you start it up after refilling the fluid and nothing works, you'll be able to find that thread again a lot quicker, it's somewhere in the MF section.

The procedure is also in the standard manual that came with the tractor.

Thanks for all the tips and info. Actually I didn't buy my tractor from the local dealer. At the time I was looking at the 1528 and got a quote, then did some shopping. I found my 1531 on tractorhouse.com about $3000 less than my local dealer's 1528 quote. He would not come down from his full price, so purchased it in Ohio and shipped it to New York. Even after the $900 shipping I still saved about $3400. So I don't have the "purchased from dealer" relationship, if not a slight resentment. However I did buy my parts from him before anyone posted to my question and aside from being overpriced, they were accommodating and offered help by phone if I get in a pickle. They were certainly not giving anything away though even though I am still under warranty, so I paid for the hose. And I don't have a trailer so until something major breaks I will try to do my own maintenance. I ended up paying just over $200 for 5 gal hydraulic fluid, 4 qts Agco oil, Hydraulic filter, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and hose. Our tax rate is 8 1/8%, which was $15 of the bill. I didn't ask about shop or parts manuals because I didn't think they sold them. But I will find out soon. So now I have what I need to do the job, aside from my questionable technical skills, clear guidance, and making time. Thanks again to all!

Did you get the manual with it? If not I can scan the page that has the bleed procedure for you.

Oh and I found it necessary to get a cap type oil filter wrench for the engine oil filter. I couldn't get it off by hand and there was no clearance for a strap wrench.
