Tractor
Kubota 4630 with cab and loader
A local dealer has offered me a 2006 brand new left over MF 1533, with 4wd, a factory cab (with A/C and heat) and factory loader for $23,750. I think I can get him down more, because he admits he wants to sell it soon. Is this a good price?

I'm upgrading from vintage equipment on my farm, and will be using it for loader work, snow plowing with a backblade ( on my steep 1/4 mile driveway), and genral farm maintenance. I also need to use it to move large round bales (about 1000 lbs each). Is this enough tractor for my purposes?

Thanks!!

I can't tell about the pricing because of location difference and I don't have a cab. Mine was +/- 18k tax and all last June, and that was here in MS.

I've lifted over 1000 lbs with my FEL and 800 or so with the 3ph. Moving hay with a rear spike wouldn't be a problem. I'd want a counterweight if moving them with a front spear and I have loaded rears. Never plowed snow but mine will handle a 6' box blade full and cuts well with a 6' grader blade. Hope this helps.

"IF" I remember correctly, a cab with AC and heat is around $5,000 +/- on top of the base price.

What else dose it have... What kind of Trans, Rear remotes, Mid PTO, What tires, and so on?

Tax? On farm use equipment? I thought it was exempt.

Depends on what qualifies as a "farm". I've already argued with the state on taxes once, ain't doing it again. MS is 2 or 3% farm tax and 7% sales tax.

Down here in Florida, it is pretty simple. You have to own a farm and show you are making money (well trying to) on that farm to get Tax Exempt.

Mr Steve,

My interpretation is that if the tractor is used on "AG" zoned land for the purpose for which the land was zoned "AG" then there is no problem.

I've had my 1533 for about 6 months now.

I've used the loader to dig and move quite a bit of dirt from the pasture to fill the newly landscaped back yard (heavy clay). It performed flawlessly.

I regularly use it to move 900# round bales. I use pallet forks and stay low, only high enough to clear the feeder rails. If I had to lift higher or stack I'd invest in a speer. But, the loader doesn't even struggle with the 900# bales. And, with loaded tires (no other counterweight), it's stable, even over rough pasture.

I can load about 1100#'s (on forks) before the tractor gets "tippy". But, counterweight would increase that.

That Price Is not bad on that tractor, Also Check Out The Rebates AGCO is offering right now. That tractor should do what you want it to with ease. Remember you need to properly ballast your tractor! you should have better than 50% rear weight at all times! You will cause extra stress on front end components. If you need to be in fwd while using your loader on dry level ground, YOU NEED MORE BALLAST!
