Buying Advice MF 1540

Hello,

Checking for some advice on a price for an 2008 MF 1540 4x4 w/shuttle shift and loader, Curtis cab, and 178hrs. Asking price is 19,500.00.

In speaking with a friend who works at a MF dealer he said the tractor itself is only worth around 15,500.00 and the aftermarket cab would bring it up a little. This is the yellow model which I'm told was a limited addition Agco made for CAT and added the MF decals. He did mention some parts are no longer available for the yellow units such as the hood.

Any other feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Your friend is spot on. Probably sold for 20-21000 new. 19500 is too much.

I bought a new 1540 in '07 for $22,500 and sold it with 95 hours in 2009 for $15,500.

GREAT tractor, btw. Had to sell because of the economy.
