Oil & Fuel mf 165 injector pump

Im trying to determine if the injector pump is bag on a MF 165, diesel. It sped up ,& quit running,with a small fuel leak at the 1st cannister filter.I changed all filters,& sequentially bled thru 4 points. When it is turned over it will spray hard out of the bottom 5/16 bleed screw on injector pump, but can only get a small amount of fuel out of the last , top injector pump bleed screw, & basically no fuel, out of the injector lines, when loosened at the injector, or at the pump. the fuel cut off linkage moves freely,& have attempted bleed at on ,& even half on position, &the same for throttle linkage. Any suggestions?

May be the injection pump, but have some things for you to check first. What filters are you using, if NAPA or WIX make sure the top fuel inlet groove is not blocked with an extra O-ring. Also make sure top base groove O-ring is not twisted, that can let air in to give trouble bleeding, but may not leak fuel. If all checks OK then I suspect the pump has internal trouble. Just mailed back a pump I repaired that had the plungers stuck, a complete teardown and reseal took care of it.

thanks for reply, I am using wix filters,& I did make sure that the old o ring was removed, before I installed the new one. I will check for the twisted top ring , tho, because of what you said about a air leak "in", without an external leak,"out".What had me perplexed, was the fact that, I had good bleed out pressure on the bottom bleed screw,& the bottom appears to be where all 4 outlet lines are . And the top part , looks like it doesnt contain much, its just like a plate, that houses the linkage,but, it also might be where/hoe. it meters the fuel that goes to the injector lines. I think I ll take it off ,& have it rebuilt. My MF dealer sends the pumps off , for a rebuild, & estimates 4 to 600$ fee, I guess thats

It's not hard to remove and replace the pump. I can explain how to drain and pack the pump for USPS mailing, or you can UPS it too. I have the tools and parts on hand, be glad to help.
