All that needs to be done is check to see if scribed line on pump flange lines up with line on timing cover. To remove pump assy unbolt oil fill adapter in front of pump gear. After it is removed you will see three bolts in gear that hold gear to pump drive hub, remove all three bolts. DO NOT remove center allen bolt as this holds pump hub to drive shaft and must stay with pump. Also in gear there is a pin that fits into notch cut into drive hub, makes timing foolproof. All that is left is line removal, linkage and three pump mount nuts and washers. If you have any questions feel free to call 574 893 4172 after 7 PM best time. Was mechanic at MF dealer years ago, have been repairing injection pumps since 1976.

G.Day cowboy.
To remove the injector pump first thing to do is disconnect the battery, CLEAN the whole area first, turn the fuel tap off .
Remove the Start and stop rods then all the fuel lines ,Be careful don't bend them, either fit plastic plugs or use insulation tape to seal the ends and seal the open ends on the pump.
Give it another clean I find using one of the cheap spray pumps buy for a dollar in the hardware fill with gasoline and spray away good for fiddly little jobs.
Remove the front timing cover access plate it is a round plate held on by six 1/4 bolts, next undo the three drive retaining bolts these hold the pump onto the drive gear , tear a strip of rag and carefully push it down inside a bit in case you drop a washer or a bolt ,all three bolts out if you look at where the injector pump is fitted to the engine you will see match marks , they should be lined up or there about ,this is the only timing you can change unless you go inside the pump (DON'T) this is a job for the specialist injector man.
Remove the three nuts that hold the pump on and when you remove the pump look at the drive on it you will see the three holes and a slot the slot lines up with a timing pin on the back of the drive gear .
DO NOT TURN THE ENGINE WITH THE PUMP REMOVED The drive gear will not come out of mesh but it could bounce around in there and damage the timing case.
After overhaul and before refitting the pump make sure the new gasket is on and then carefully line up the slot to the drive pin be careful you should not have to force anything secure everything good and REMOVE the rag, fuel pipes all back on and tight change the fuel filters ,Replace all three (O)rings one small which goes around where the holding bolt comes through the one with the blue stripe goes on the bottom and the one on the top be careful when you dig the top on out that you don't damage the housing use a seal pick with a pointed end, filters fitted turn the fuel on at the tank loosen the two bleed screws on the top of the filter housings and hand pump till you get a good steady flow of fuel with no air don't be in a hurry the more air you get out the better Note "When priming you should get a good steady strong flow of fuel if you don't ,crank the engine by hand a little bit and at the same time have some one hold the priming lever up lightly they will feel the cam lifting the lever as you turn the engine you want to stop cranking when the lever is at the lowest point this will give you maximum operating stroke of the lift pump).
Tighten the bleed screws up and go to the injector pump there are two body bleed screws use the proper size spanner 5/16 a/f ring.undo the bottom one first about one turn is enough ,again prime till all air is out this is best done with someone helping as you want to tighten the bleed screw before the pressure is lost just in case air gets back in,this done loosen the other bleed screw up top about two inches up do the same with this one again don't be in a hurry make sure all of the air is out this will save the battery, this done loosen say two injector pipes at the injector end any two the easiest to get to and set the throttle to about half was roughly 1000rpm with the engine stop in the run position crank the engine till it starts keep your hands away from the ends where the fuel is coming out turn the engine of and tighten the injector pipes and your done .
You could if you like remove the fuel tank and give it a good clean out before you do the pump , don't forget the little filter on the end of the fuel tap inside the tank .
Thats it.
Happy days.
Hutch.
