Howdy,
Been casually looking for a diesel 135 or 165 for a while and ran across this one at a manageable price. It's a 1970 165 based on the serial number, but appears to have had a few modifications over the years (fenders and seat catch my attention). ~4,000 hrs on the meter, 4x2 transmission (no multipower), runs fine, 3pt and pto work, but though power steering is present it's not operational and the sheetmetal is rough. Not being intimately familiar with MF tractors, is this worth considering? Any way to confirm that it's a 165 other than the serial #? How hard would it be to pick up the missing pieces over time in order to have a somewhat accurate restoration? Looking for something that I can work now (bush hogging and hay) and restore later.
Thanks!
