MF 180, Farmall 300
Hello everyone,
I'm newly registered but not new to the site, been lurking this and other tractor sites for quite some time. Never had the need to post til now. I recently traded my Farmall 560 for a MF 180. I know some will say I'm crazy, and if you seen the 560 you would really say so. It was restored and shined like a new penny. The 180 isn't as pretty but it fits my needs better, and one day I'll make it shine too. Anyway, I'm posting cause its missing a part of the frame. Not sure the correct name for it but it is the piece that bolts to the front frame and runs along side the engine and then bolts to the rear of the engine and transmission block. About three ft long and about 6-8 inches tall. Shaped like a piece of C-channel steel.
One side is there the other is missing. If anyone knows where I can get one or has one to sell would be great. Any suggestions where to look and ask would be appreciated too. Thanks

Those are known as side rails. Here is a list of 21, 180's for salvage I found on TractorHouse. A couple of them here in Ohio. Robert's at Camden would probably be as close as any to you, listed. They have lots of parts on hand overall, and nice to deal with, but seem pretty proud of their parts, if you get my drift. The things is, it depends on if it's gas or diesel, and which gas engine, Perkins, or Continental, plus a split on serial numbers on the diesel version. http://www.tractorhouse.com/list/di...=3&Manu=MASSEY-FERGUSON&Mdltxt=180&mdlx=exact

To find the part number of exactly what you need for anything on your 180, click on this link to AgcoPartsBooks: AGCO Parts Books Enter as a guest user, then fill in the blocks, as to model and brand. When it opens to the parts listings, scroll down to almost the bottom, and see "side rails", and it will say Perkins Gas beside it. Click on that, and it shows them all, and part numbers matching particular model, and serial number breaks. I have found parts for mine by copying and pasting the part number to Google. You can also go to TractorHouse:http://www.tractorhouse.com/ and post a "want to buy" ad. It would be the 3rd item down in the red menu at top left. It is free, but you do need to register, and give some contact info. Copy and paste the part number, and a good description, as far as model, and serial number. Normally, all response will come within 36 hrs. Don't necessarily jump on the first one that calls. I have gotten a wide spread on parts prices, on several items I was looking for, using this. But you have to take into consideration shipping charges too.

Hope this helps..!!
