MF 180 hydrulics

Hi everyone, my neighbor has an MF 180 that suddenly developed hyd problems. The loader will not lift, and the 3 pt will lift but very slowly but the power steering works good. Any ideas on where to start diagnosis? As well he has not been able to find a service manual for it, again any ideas for where to get one, or does anyone have access to one that we could photocopy? The power steering is supplied from an engine mounted pump, totally separate from the lift and auxiliary pump. It has it's own reservoir and shares nothing with the hydraulic system.

My starting point would be draining the transmission/rear end, removing and cleaning the suction screen on the internal pumps. It won't be easy, not much on the 180 is easy. And yes, a service manual to study would certainly help. The pump and screen are in the rear housing and might be accessed from the side through one of the side cover holes.
