I have a gc2300 with the 2325 [60"] mmm deck. What I'am wondering is has anyone changed the belt on there's yet. If you have do you have the part # of the belt and did you buy it from Massey or did you by a after market one. I haven't had to change mine yet nor have I had any problems with it.I was just thinking it would be nice to have a spare one in case this one should ever break. It would be nice to have the part number of a after market one as I'am sure from massey its going to be costly. Thanks in advance if anyone can give me the info.Larry.

I have a GC2300 with the 2325 [60"] mmm deck. The Massey part # for the belt is 3606880M1 I was quoted $82.24 from the dealer. I have friends at the local auto parts store and they figured out that a Gates # B111 is almost a perfect match and it cost Me less than $25.00. I put it on and adjusted the tension the way the owners manual instructed and it worked great. I was pleased with the price. Tom

Thanks for this info Tom.I'll have to go to my local parts dealer and get a belt ordered in so I'll have one on hand for spare.Maybe I'll put the new one on use it and keep this one for spare.Larry

Thats what I did Larry. I wanted to be sure the B111 belt fit and now I have the old one for a spare.
I wish I could find an aftermarket place to get the idler pulley on the tensioner.I know it will be the next thing to go bad. Its the only pulley that does not have a fitting to grease it.
Massey part # 3606801M91 $29.38 from the dealer.
Most idler pulleys cost under $15.00 many less than $10.00. Tom

I guess MF must think that since we bought such a good machine, and they never will see us again....but when we need them,($$) they want us to remember the way to the dealer??

If it had only last just 3 more days I could have save a little money

Hey there Tom the idler pulleys can be bougth at most parts store's that deal with any agriculture equipment.I do stuff a bit different with mine when they go.What I've done is take them apart and just replace the brg. I'll take the pulley off and put in onto my drill press and drill through 3 different spot welds around the pulley with either a 1/4" or 5/16" drill bit. Once I have made 3 different holes right thru I'll use a bit bigger drill bit to drill into the other spot welds but just drill only deep enough to let the spot welds release or let go_Once thats done with all the spot welds you can pull the pulley 1/2 apart and change the brg.by itself. Put it all back together line up the holes that were drilled all the way thru, install some bolts that are the same size as what you drilled and now you have a new idler pulley with a change able brg just by removing the bolts after that.It takes a bit of time and patience the first time but once its done its done.Brgs are usually easily had and for a lot less $$$ then a new idler pulley.Larry

Thank you for that little bit of money saving advice!!

Larry thanks for the repair on the pulley. I had not thought of separating the pulley and replacing the bearing. I like to repair things rather than replace them when possible. I can usually repair or mend almost anything if I put my mind to it. Tom

I used the B111 and have had no issues for the first couple of months. It cost me $41 at NAPA. I just need an owners manual if any one has a digital copy.
