Just to let others know what I found out about repairing a MF 240 that had a terrible front wheel shimmey.
I recently drove my tractor at higher than usual speed to take it to town for some repairs. I had to bring the
tractor to a stop to get it to quit.
What we did was to completly remove, clean , and flush the power steering pump and lines. We cleaned the filter, and then
added new fluid, making sure to bleed the lines according to MF techniques.
We also checked and found the toe-in to be incorrect, so that was set too.
I drove the tractor back to the farm yesterday, a trip that took about an hour, and the problem is solved.
