I have a 1982 MF 255 diesel tractor and am I experiencing problems in getting heat in the cab.
I have put a new rad cap and new thermostat but still minimal heat.
I noticed that the rad is not building pressure as the hoses are not getting hot ( can easily touch any of the hoses).
There are no leaks and all fluids are topped off. Previous owner had changed the water pump.
The heat gauge goes about 1/3 into the yellow. I have covered the front part and the sides in the hopes of gaining some heat, but still minimal heat.

Hoping someone can shed some light.

Diesels take a while to warm up.You won't warm them idling. You have to start working them gradually.

Are you using the correct thermostat (~195F) and the correct rated pressure cap? Do you have a shutoff valve in the cab heater circuit? Some tractors do (they sometimes call them summer valves because you turn them off in the summer).
