I have owned this thing for 30 years. Built 2 houses , both 12 acre lots, 2 septic systems. one was a pump discharge to the field 500 ft away. A barn , all the driveways and other assorted activities. Some repairs anong the way . Front king pin broke, cylinder head nut fell off inside the boom cyl, hoses all over, swing cylinders had porous castings . last spring had to replace all 4 brake cylinders. But the real PITA was the low pressure fuel delivery system. solder balls in the tank, crap in the lift pump twice finally installed an electric lift pump, found a loose fitting in the tank line (that one was on me) . Last thing was broken bleeder in the injection pump. I think the torque converter had air in it. This was a power shuttle with 4 speeds forward or reverse. 3 cyl Perkins. Original tires Always kept under cover. SO now I am 75 and thinking about all the crap my kids will have to get rid of . And what is this thing worth 1985 1100 hours Transmission oil change at 1000. Have maint manual and parts book. Pretty good shape but seems like always something to fix. MF Industrial no longer exists AGCO has the the parts . I was looking for pricing but not too many of these things around. I was thinking 5k.
A friend of mine was over to drop off something I sold him 15 years ago. Another story We are walking by it and I said I ought to sell that thing 5k. He walked around for a while He is building a house on 10-15 Acres and has not started the house yet but has his barn up. He said are you for real. I looked at him and said yep. It's gone now and I have withdrawal symtoms and depression. I keep finding jobs I would do with it but knowing at the same time I would never do them.
Ahh I still have my NH tc34da . and a bunch of attachments but no backhoe. I will never sell this one. ever.
