Hey,
We are putting a new oil pump on a Perkins 3 cyl diesel and have some questions. Forst, we bought new pick up and supply pipes, along with new olives and nuts. How tight should these be tightened? ( Both on the pump and the block.. ) I assume the olives will expand when tightened, so all will be snug??
Also, the stabilizer bracket the bolts to the main cap was not attached to the pickup tube, so after we get it all straight and marked we are going to braze it on? Do these always come seperate to be assembled on the engine!!
Also, what could we use to rinse out a fuel tank that has been sitting for a while? We are converting this MF ( FE ) 35 from a Standard 23c diesel to a 3 cyl Perky diesel? I was browsing at Home Depot and saw some stuff called TSP? Is it any good? Does the tank have to be flushed out after using TSP?
