Hello all

I have a MF 471 with the 1060 FEL and a MF 3pt backhoe (not sure model).
I had to replace the spool valve for the loader and have replaced filter and refilled to max with fluid.

It would seem that I'm not getting any pressure and am curious if the system could be air locked. If so how would I go about fixing that issue.

Also while I've been playing with this issue I noticed that whatever is running
when you turn the key to the run position has stopped and the engine takes some cranking to start. I just assumed that was the injector pump running, but wouldn't the engine not run without it?

Thanks for reading...have a good weekend.

Wanted to edit, but don't know where the "edit" link is.

After breaking the hard line to the remotes, I learned that the pump is, in fact, pumping...I assume this by the quantity of hydraulic fluid in my face. What I can't figure out is why the 3pt, backhoe, or FEL won't work. Maybe I have the hoses backwards on the spool valve? The backhoe is attached to the spool valve as is the quick connects for the FEL on the top side. Also, why wouldn't the steering or the 3pt work? I'm new to this, so I'm quite confused. I can only assume that the hoses on the spool valve are backwards...maybe input on the same side as one of the outputs and the other output on the input side? Then again, why wouldn't the 3pt or the steering work? I dunno at this point. I'm just trying to get some use out of this tractor after a few years of it broken all the time. Maybe wrong place to post?

"edit"...seems the fuel lifter pump is out...still runs though.

What if anything did you change? Does anything work like it should? Most valves are marked as to P=pressure, T=tank, PB=Power Beyond, A, B, etc. Maybe the QA's are reversed. Do you know the last known working setup that you observed?

Be careful of that pressurized hyd fluid, it can cause severe damage.

Hi, Thanks for the reply

I did not remove the valve myself so I'm not sure of the order they should be connected. The only thing I did know were the quick connects going to the FEL itself.

Today I swaped two hoses around and I got remotes and steering back. These are two of the three hoses that connect to the side of the spool valve. The FEL bucket acts like it wants to curl and the tractor rpms change just slight enough to hear, but the bucket cylinder rod only moves bout an inch in either direction. still no backhoe. Also the remotes now function. I can't read anything on the valve but the A,B,C,D and that is hard to make out.

I doubt I made this clear, but that was a try. Sorry if my lack of knowledge gets frustrating.

Sorry for the mistake. Cleaned old valve and can read the A,B,1,2. The only other markings are T2 and P2.
