MF 6180 not shifting into low and rabit light not on, on dash.

I just picked up a used massey ferguson 6180. High-low does not seem to be shifting. When you turn the key on, all the dash lights come on and the rabbit light appears to work. Once the engine starts all the lights go off including the rabbit light. When I move the shift lever to the left it does not change from high to low. The 4-speed powershift ABCD seems to be working fine. Where should i start looking for the problem? Is there a wiring diagram that can be viewed online?

Well, I've searched several forums and finally broke down and ordered an online manual. The forums pointed out pour wireing was the root cause of my problem. With the wire diagram from the manual and direction from the forums, I checkd the wirering under the right hand step. Unfortunately MF used a couple of regular wire plugs that did not have any protection against the elements. I was able to reconnect the wires that broke/corroded off the plug with the cheep crimp connectors and as able to get things working again. Not sure what I'll do for a more permanent fix. ..

Glad you figured out, seems like nice size of tractor. Might be a little big on this forum for much help. Try newagtalk, might help more. Tractors of that vintage seem to take some electrical knowledge.
