Hello,
I have a GC2400 that I purchased new 11/09 with approximately 240 hours. Today while snowblowing I noticed that I have lost forward drive from the rear wheels while on an steep incline. While trying to pull back up the incline the hydrostatic drive was not going into relief but the rear wheels were not spinning. When I engaged the four wheel drive I was able to climb the incline back to the level but most of the traction came from the front wheels. Which the front wheels still feel like they have good pulling power when going forward. While using reverse I still had good power and was able to break the rear wheels loose while blowing snow if the drifts got too deep. My tractor was able to climb a shallow incline without using the four wheel drive but it does not feel like it has the power that it used to.
Other things to note: I do not remember ever hearing any loud bangs or something that would give me any indication something went wrong. I have checked the fluid level and that looks to be full. The last time the hydraulic fluid was changed was at the 50 hour service which was the spring of 2010. The manual does not state a time limit on the hydraulic fluid just after the first 50 hour service it should be done every 300 hours afterwards. I do not see anything physically wrong on any of the linkages but with it being so cold out I was only able to look for a few minuets. I have been letting it warm up for 15-20 minuets before I start clearing snow with it due to the very cold temperatures in my area for the past month. I currently have an inquiry email in with my dealer but wanted to check with the people here to see if anyone had any ideas what could have happened.
Thank you for your time and any insight that you may have towards my issue.
Mike
