I had this on the MF page, no luck, if this machine is Hino, maybe someone here can help?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drained my hydraulic fluid, replaced new with filters, now 3 point won't lift, book sais the hoses going to loader should be hooked together when loader is off, which I removed before fluid change, I tried to start tractor with them disconnected, but would'nt start due to air in lines as I had also changed fuel filters. The book said operating tractor without hoses connected could ruin the relief valve, has anyone had this problem , does it sound like a relief valve problem, since it lifted fine before all this?

If enough pressure was built with the hoses disconnected , you could have damaged the pump.

I hope not, I took out the relief valve, as per the manual, it had some burrs, looked overheated, MF had one for 35 bucks, so I'm gonna give it a shot, if not how do I tell if the pump is bad?

Loosen the pressure line & see if it pumps oil.

Should I do it while it's running or cranking without starting, should I be ready for oil to spray all over me and everything else, I'm hoping it's the relief valve, I won't know till the weekend, when the valve shows up, the book said if hoses were disconnected it should trip the relief valve and possibly overheat it, it also mentioned " possible system damage ", so you may be right, if in fact it does'nt have pressure, do you know where I can get it rebuilt, or replaced if necessary.Boy, I wish I could step back in time and connect those hoses LOL, oh well can't cry over spilt milk, thanks again Len. Oh, by the way, do you know if this machine crosses to a Hinomoto?

Cranking without starting will show you if it is pumping oil. The relief valve is usually in the 3 point housing. If the hoses were disconnected before they get to the relief valve, the relief valve can't do its job. Pumps are not rebuildable. I can supply a hydraulic pump. The 1045 is built by Hinomoto, but doesn't cross to a Hinomoto model.

Thanks Len, I'm gonna put the valve in this weekend if no good, how much is a new pump, and how long does it take to get, you can e-mail me with the info if you'd like.

Don't know anything about the problem, and I hate to get in the middle of your discussion, but Len, you seem to know alot about MF's and I need some advice. I recently bought a used MF 1020 HST. It seems to run and perform great. I want to add a FEL for light yard work. Any suggestions and where can I get one installed?

Thanks
BBB
and sorry for the disruption.

"If the hoses were disconnected before they get to the relief valve, the relief valve can't do its job."

If this is the case, why bother with the valve? Check for pump output.

Well, the relief valve is in a small 3 bolt housing, and the hoses come from an adapter plate on the housing, so I really don't know if it's before or after the hoses, and the valve was stuck, so I figured I'd replace it and hope for the best, we'll see soon enough.
