MF135 Hydraulic Filter

My dad has got a MF135 from the early 70s with the Perkins Diesel. I ordered a tech manual this past week but it won't be here for several weeks & I was needing to know if this tractor has a hydraulic filter & if it does then how do you gain access to it? Thanks.

Yes it has an internal screen. You can get to it threw the side plate near the rear tire.

Is it a reusable screen or does it need to be replaced? Is it behind the plate next to the right rear tire where the dipstick is? Thanks.

I don't know about your 135, but my 165, the filter is between your feet on the left side of the case (if your sitting in the seat).

Picture of it from the top looking down. As has been said, it's adjacent to the side cover.

I would replace it. This is a screen filter and is pretty cheap. This is a filter that gets changed about ever 10 to 15 yrs or when people find out about them. :thumbsup:

Well dang. I was under the assumption that it didn't have a hydraulic filter(should have asked on here first), so I changed the hydraulic fluid this past weekend...is it possible to replace this filter without having the drain the fluid?

If tractor has 2 stage foot clutch for PTO strainer can be removed through PTO shift cover access hole. Tractors with hydraulic PTO three point lift cover has to come off as oil lines are attached to side cover on inside, can't be removed until lift cover is off first.
