MF 1531
Hi all,

This barely qualifies as a mod, but I did change something and it has a pretty high bang/buck ratio.

My newly arrived MF 1531 would not allow operation of the curl/dump circuit when in float mode. This especially concerned me since I also got the front dozer blade for plowing snow. I would probably just leave that in float and want to adjust the angle while plowing.

Inspection quickly revealed that it was only the plastic cover that was preventing this from working. So a little surgery with the Leatherman and it now works. Here are some pics:

Housing, after surgery
After, showing curl clearance

Hope someone might find this helpful. It should apply to all Agco tractors with pedestal valves.

Hay, a mod is mod and if it works better it has to be good.
BTW, I looked at your MF1405 blade pictures. That is one good looking blade. It looks heavy built in all the right places. Dealers around here don't keep them. I guess that it's because we don't get as much snow as the folks up north do. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, the blade is quite heavy and it has locks for the trips, so it really is a "dozer blade". They used it to smooth out a spot to dismount it on when they delivered it. I really deliberated on that item because it was $3100. I knew I could make up one that would fit on the FEL for probably half that, but I would need to get additional hydraulics working for it. Knowing myself, as I do, I would probably put it off until the day before the first snow and end up with something held together with duct tape and bungee cords. So, I sprang for the factory plow. I hope I don't regret it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I bet that you don't. It doesn't look like some of the more flimsy blades that have breaking and bending problems. It appears to be very well designed.
