Has anyone out there with a 1700 series had any electrical switch issues on their units? I've had problems with two so far, it seems that both are from moisture. When wet the hazards won't shut off and seat occupancy switch shuts the tractor down.

Thanks

Every time I wash my 1736 the hazards wont quit flashing. I unplug it and let it dry out and it is fine.

My 1736 hydro shuts down with a seat error code when I hit a bump. I've got a special cure for that with a zip tie. I am going to try some dielectric grease on the hazard plug so that should take care of that problem too.

I already zip tied the seat switch shortly after I took delivery. Still when the switch sees some snow or ice it intermitantly will shut it down. Let me know how the grease works out for you. Maybe that would work to seal up both for me.

I was told the seat switch issue is being worked on. On the hazard light issue pop it out of the fender and rotate it so the holes in the switch are pointing towards the ground. Also coat it with some di-electric grease. On the newer tractors they moved the switch from the LH side to the dash panel and that seems to have solved the issue.

I too was told 6 months ago that the seat issue was being worked on and it was just affecting the hydros. When I called the dealer a couple weeks ago, he told me that I just needed to wear my seat belt and everything would be fine. I've been operating tractors all my life and never have I worn a seat belt. There wasn't a hill steep enough in northern North Dakota where I grew up that would tip a tractor over. :)

Sounds like a cab model would fix the problems. lol

I would have loved to have bought a cab model but with all the cedar trees here in central Texas I would have had the top ripped off and windows broken before I had 5 hours on it.

Hmmm, spend $7000 to solve a $20 problem. Lol

Gotta 1529 that had the same seat issue and I just couldn't get the seatbelt tight enough to keep my butt on it...stalling in the road while removing snow was stressfull in traffic.
I put a bulldog paperclamp on the butterfly piece under te seat to hold it semi-permanently in the closed position and have not had issue since. Mind you, the pto will run and the tractor will cruise without you seated now, but it doesn't ever stall anymore...
You gotta remember those safety items for yourself...
