Recently overhauled the lift pump, found all the parts that someone else had taken out of this tractor, and thanks to the help of the customers service manual, was able to piece it back together. Preset everything just as the manual had explained it, and when first fired up, the lift worked. ( slow and jerky but worked, as opposed to never working before) I thought, " Ok, just needs some tweaking in the adjustments and we will be ok. I put the project on the back burner for a few days and this morning went and hooked it up to a 400 lb finish mower ( only thing I had here with wieght) and the arms came up, and stoppped. would not lift it off the ground. Hook up my gauge. Nothing. Zero. When trying to lift, the pressure control valve? spews oil from behind it in the area of number 1 in the photo( which I think is my problem) Also, should oil be coming out from the backside of the diaphram on #3?
The adjustment #2 , if i remember the manual correctly, this is the main pressure adjustment? Which direction should increase the pressure?
I robbed this photo off another thread in this forum if it looks familiar, sorry
