MF230 3PH hydraulics

I have a Buddy with a 78 MF 230, He went to use his bushog the other day and the 3ph wouldn't lift it, no noise and no loading of the engine. He said he could help the 3ph lift it, but it would drift back down. He has used the same bushog for many years, so it's not a weight issue. One thing that worries me is he doesn't know where the hyd filter is so i'm guessing it hasn't been changed in quite awhile /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif he is going to get that changed, but outside of the filter (the level is ok) does anybody have other experiences that might shed some light on this problem?

I wonder if the draft positions got moved, we had a 230 and to switch from 3ph to the loader I had to throw a switch on the top of the trannie and change the draft control on the right fender to "constant pumping". I would monkey with that a bit perhaps. Good luck.

you can find some help. It is Big Deans site and he has all kinds of MF information. He was a Massey mechanic for a lot of years. He even has a CD out for Masseys. If you don't find the information that you need there, e-mail him. As far as I know, he returns all e-mail.

Thanks for the responses I will pass that info on to him. He uses this tractor to bushog so I don't think he is in a big hurry to fix it! (grass ain't growin right now!)
