Hey Everyone,

I am thinking about possibly buying a new MF 2600 (2 wd).
My question is there anyone out here that has one of these models?

I have finally got my old MF231 somewhat squared away, but with the problems I experienced these past few months this buying thought has taken control of my mind. I would like to know if it is a good performer and the pricing.

Maybe someone can give me a suggestion on a fair price to offer the dealer.

thanks,
Haycutter

I'm not sure I can help much. The 2635 looks good to me in terms of weight, better power, low center of gravity. I guess your application is mainly hay and 2WD works for you. Where I operate (hills of WV) a 2WD tractor is a stuck tractor. I can't do without 4WD. The dealer really means a lot. I'd pay more to work with a dealer I trust, has good mechanics and knows what he is doing. There are so many variables it is hard to suggest much. If you can sell your old one (maybe on Craigs list or ad in the paper?) you can make a better deal instead of trading in. Front end loaders are absolutely required in my case. If you need a loader, the DL250 on the 2600's is very strong for that size tractor. There are a lot of good used machines around too. If you could find one with just a few hundred hours you might save quite a bit.

JWR,
I appreciate your thoughts on the MF2600.
Everyone seems to have good thought on the MF2600 so that is the way I am going.
After talking with the dealer we got to a price I think I can deal with of $12,700 and also a 6' BushHog for $1,280
I think I did alright. After haying season, now I can clean up my pasture of the bushes and dog fenders with ease.
If I could just get rid of this pigweed I got in the pasture doing the summer I would really be doing great.
As soon as I get my machine I will post some pictures.....:)

thanks a lot everyone

Yes please send pics. I think you will be happy with your purchase. Much better tractor in my opinion than some of the new light built stuff. I have one of the older siblings to the 2600 series which is a 461 mwfd. Absolutely love it. Unfortunately my local dealer has moved on to cheaper tractors like Branson and McCormick etc. people want cheap and that's what they end up with too.
