Earlier this summer I rescued a 1975 Massey MF30.
It has the MF34 loader and MF54 backhoe. And the CAT II three point, with 540 rpm PTO.
After several weeks of doing an "in frame" rebuild on the Perkins, fixing the various issues that had resulted from sitting outside. Then repairing the sins of previous owners, (many of whom should never be allowed to touch a tractor again). The machine is up and running and in service on my (5) acre, new house / pole barn project.
Next on my wish list for the tractor is a "quick tach" for the front loader. Soon after that I'd like to add auxiliary hydraulic hook ups, both front and rear (rear already has the massive lines for the hoe.)
My question is, does anyone have experience adding the "third position" hydraulics to an older machine like this.
If my research is correct, the front PTO is a 20gpm unit, the fluid reservoir for that system is 11 gallons? I believe? The diesel Perkins is 61hp.
On paper it would appear the tractor has plenty of capacity to handle the additions. I just need to figure out how to go about doing it.
Any help or insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
