MF-30 industrial w/34 & 54 loader/backhoe
Hi, All my first post. I own this tractor for about 2 weeks.I need help. Power steering not working. I bought a power steering pump and steering cylinder.
For the life of me I can't remove the pin from the steering cylinder. The pins top is threaded so as to pull it out. Three days soaking with PB blaster, #8 grade nut and washer with grease. Putting about 150# torque. Using and air hammer on the pin, IT JUST WON'T BUDGE. How do you remove it? If the hole went through to the bottom I could use the air hammer from below. I'm stumped. Please help.
P.S. On the loader mf34, where do you fill the hydraulics and how do you tell if its full? Looks like hydraulic tank is in frame. Thanks Laddie

G'day as you have found out they are a huge PITA when they will not come out. I do know of some people drilling the pin out and have heard of some drilling a small hole through pin and continued on through casting so they could punch pin from bottom. Have you got alot of movement in your pin?
How is the rest of the steering do you have a book on how to set it up properly? If not then PM me and i will try to run you through the process as the only time we have had to change a cyl is for ext leakage. Was the top arm on the big pin able to move slightly, It has to do this to operate the valve

I got the same unit without a Backhoe (Darn!) a few months ago. Mine has the Instant Revers Transmission as well. Based on what I have found with mine, it sounds like the Reverse Pedal is not returning to the Neutral position. Have your checked to see if those are spring loaded? My guess is they are, but I have not gotten the "Foot of grease" off the dang thing to be able to see it.

I have searched and searched for days as to how much the loader holds, as I want to drain and refill with a new filter. This tractor of mine has seen use, but not good maintenance. Best of luck with that. Hope you let everyone know how you solved it. The dip stick fell off the breather cap, so I'm not even sure where the propper fill level is.
