MF35 Utility (gas)
I am replacing the headlights on my MF35 utility. Again. They used to look like this.

Then they got crushed when a wind storm blew in the overhead door, which then landed on the tractor and took out the lights.

So I bought a pair of these and mounted them in the same place, on top of the bumper or whatever it's called.

Then a couple of weeks ago I left town and it snowed here. I got a text from my son saying he cleared the driveway for me. Helpful, right? Except that when I came home, there were no more headlights on the tractor. Just a cut wire dangling in front. His explanation? "Crappy mount then fell off at same time when I was pushing snow".

The lights still work but i need new mounts.

I also had a rear work light until the box scraper arm (used to raise and lower the teeth) got into it and ripped that off.

Can y'all post pictures of your lights and how/where they are mounted? I need some ideas so perhaps I don't have to keep redoing this every few years.

I use Kawell brand 42w LEDs mounted outboard of the loader arms on brackets. I use two 27w versions for the rear work lights. Plenty of light, looks like a UFO landing in my yard.

I have them wired on a three way switch, so up turns on the front lights, middle is off, down fires all four lights. I bought them off Amazon, they’ve been fantastic. No moisture ingress, all LEDs still work, been using them about three years.

Edit- nice thing about mounting on the loader uprights is that raising and lowering of the loader arms doesn’t block light output and temporarily blind you.

Hey shaeff, can you give us a closeup picture of the light mounts you have attached to the loader and how/where the wiring goes?

Sure, I’ll run out tomorrow and snap some pics for you.

Until then- there are small “L” brackets welded to the uprights on my loader frame with holes in them. The lights come with stainless “U” shaped brackets and nut, bolt, lock washer.

I’ve clipped the lights with tree branches while brush hogging several times, the lights just flip backward, or forward. I keep the pivot bolts semi-tight to allow for movement and prevent breakage.

Hi Shaeff, I'm prepping for winter here and want to move my lights over to the loader frame like yours. Can you send pics of the mounts and maybe the wiring so I can see how it's routed?

Thanks. Hope all is well over there.

Oh wow, this totally slipped my mind. I’ll be working on my machine this weekend. I’ll snap some pics then, and I’ll make a calendar event in my phone so I don’t forget again!

Thanks for the pics. Looks pretty straightforward. Just a piece of angle iron welded to the loader frame right below the pins.

Yep, that’s it. Pretty simple and effective.
