Tractor runs for about 5 minutes and then quits, starts after a couple minutes, runs for couple minutes, then quits. Gas filter is not plugged.Any idea what's wrong?

Does it seem as if its running out of gas? Or runs just long enough to engage implement or put in gear to move then dies? If so the carburator is probably out of adjustment or there is just enough gas trickling through the filter or rust in the bottom of the tank.

More than likely you will have to disconnect gas line from carb and use low pressure air hose to blow back through line with gas cap off (to hear air bulbing and keep pressure from expanding tank). Then hook everything back up and see if it runs longer . If it does ,thats probably sediment in bottom of tank settling over the tank opening cutting gas supply to filter. Tank should be cleaned out, Funny thing about filter is most of the larger grit is strained out buy the screen in the tank which causes the problem its supposed to prevent from happening in the first place /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
