I HAVE RECENTLY TAKEN OVER USING AND LOOKING AFTER A MF35. IT RUNS QUITE WELL BUT TODAY I NOTICED THAT OIL WAS COMING OUT OF AN OVERFLOW PIPE THAT RUNS FROM TOP OF ENGINE, ANT IDEAS WHATS GOING ON (WRONG)?

Does the crankcase dipstick show full or over full? Is the cooling system low on coolant? If the answer to both is 'yes' you likely have either a head gasket problem of a cavitation pitted cylinder wall that allows coolant to get into the cylinder then down past the rings or below the rings if the engine stops with the piston rings above the pit hole.

Sounds like oil coming out of the crankcase vent tube. Usually there is a metal mesh filter that traps the oil in the vapor before it runs out the tube.
Did you see alot of blue/white vapor coming out of the tube also ?? Is the tube part of the valve cover? One of two things comes to mind. 1, the drain for the filter on the crankcase vent tube is plugged, not allowing the oil to drain away from the filter or a baffle came loose. 2, there is an excessive amount of blow-by in the crankcase. Also make sure the crankcase breather is not plugged.

check for oil emulsion in the crankcase and low rad fluid.. also check for fuel contamination in the oil.

bad flaot and lack of a fuel valve can cause gas to end up in crankcase..

If the fuel tank is mounted higher than the engine you may have an injector pump seal allowing fuel to leak into the crankcase. If it has been sitting a while that is common. Is the oil thinner than usual? if so you should be ok if you change the oil and filter then make sure to turn the fuel off after use.

Hope this helps..

Is it streaming out or just some dripping. I could just be blow-by with is normal to some extent. If it is diesel some call it a slober tube. :)
