One front tire on my JD655 MFWD is wearing more around the outside than the inside circumference. The tires are original equipment Good Year Softrac that have six rows of tread across the width of the tire. The outside two rows are worn almost too the cord. Only the outline of the tread is visible on the center two rows. The innermost row has about l/8th of an inch of tread. The tread is barely showing on the other front tire but is worn down evenly across and around the entire tire. The JD dealer seems to think (without viewing the tires) that the uneven wear on the one tire is due to the tires being badly worn (which they obviously are). My question is if so, then why only one tire and not both? In any event they need to be replaced now but before I do, I want to make sure I don't have a problem that will cause my new tires (well, at least one) to wear abnormally. I've eyeballed the axle/wheel assemblies and it appears that the only adjustable item is the tie rods. Any suggestions on trouble shooting techniques to determine if I really do have a problem (other than worn out tires) and if so how I go about correcting it.
