Mid eighties International 245 3pth intermitant

A buddy with an older International 245 with loader complains that his 3pth is intermittant. Sounds to me like a control adjustment similar to the drop speed under the seat of my JD. Any suggestions of something similar on a International? (I haven't seen the tractor)

I have a 244. The previous model. The 244 has a hydraulic flow control knob under the seat between the driver's legs. If you turn it one way it will slow the speed of the 3 pt and also lock the 3pt. The other way speeds up the movement of the 3 pt. There also is an adjustment in the travel of the 3 pt that can cause the the 3 pt to not lift heavy loads. I would suggest he get a users manual and look at it. My 244 manual talks about the hydraulic flow control knob. The travel adjustment information was found in my service manual. I bought both on ebay.
