Guys, see the video and picture below. The drive belt on my mid-mount deck seems to be moving around way too much. I picked this unit up about a year ago and gave it a once over when I got it home. The spindles could probably use new bearings, but they're not awful. What concerns me, is I can see wear on the metal peices where the belt is making contact with it.

First, is the belt routing correct? I just matched what the old one was.

It looks like someone has modified the spring tension hook on the deck at some point. That may also be a contributing factor.

Any suggestions on how to solve this are greatly appreciated.

This is in slow motion.

The spring that should be providing more tension on the belt appears to not be doing very much. Is the pulley it is attached to free to move in response to the spring tension?

Also you could provide a little more info such as what machine do you have and such?

Belt is right. You need to tighten up the tensioner spring or you need a little shorter belt

Are the strips of v-belt under the belt in your picture left over (from an old belt) or did that belt destroy itself? If it is missing that strip(s) it will bounce a lot.

Routing look to be correct.

Check for debris wedged in the grooves on all of the pulleys. I have had small pieces of a branch get wedged in them and that really causes the belts to jump.

Belt looks loose.

Is it the proper Kubota belt?

If so, broken cords in belt and/or improper tensioner mechanism and/or spring.

Sorry, its a BX2200 with about 700 hours on it. The mid-mount deck says its an RCK60B. I'm sure its been doing this the whole time, but I wasn't paying attention to it until it shredded a belt. The pulley is free to move, but someone has definitely welded on the hook the holds the spring to the deck.

Yes that was the old belt that got ripped to shreds.

Its an ebay belt. "K5763-34710 34712 with DOUBLE BAND ARAMID" Is the length correct length for those decks? I just went off of what was on it. There's no tension adjustment that I can know of. Just a hook welded to the deck and spring connected to the floating pulley. It's been modified by somone in the past though.

It sounds like my options are a shorter belt, stiffer spring, or re-weld the anchor hook and incorporate a tensioner.

Any thoughts on how much shorter I should go on the belt if I go that route?

1/2" should be plenty

Kubota K5763-34712/10/11 60" Mower Deck Belt Replacement

Should be a 120" belt. These work on mine.
Look for belt number A118/02. ie banded A118 vbelt with 2 ribs.
A117/02 would be an inch shorter

These decks do bounce the belt quite bit after they age and in my case get abused quite often.

Buy the correct belt from Kubota.
