Mowing Mid Mount Mower too High. How do I adjust?

That's great news! Hope everything is OK! I really don't like how sloppy the lines are on these. I wish the backhoe had the length of lines and they plugged into a manifold somehow-similar to how the loader does.

I always feel like I'm either bending the hoses too much and putting tension on the fittings or I'm routing them wrong and they're gonna get severed.

I just bought a GC1723 with the drive over mid mount mower. I love the tractor but the mid mount mower wont go low enough. Right now at its lowest setting it is still cutting the grass 8 inches high. I have adjusted the cut height knob to no avail. Any ideas?

One question was your GC1723 cutting grass 8 high or was that just a measurement to the blades?

Can it actually cut grass and leave grass 8 tall?

My reason for asking is if it can curt grass 8 high it would be great for cutting by the fence in pastures.

Sure -- I use mine frequently as a poor man's bush hog. Just raise it all the way up and go through the brush. Not sure if it's 8" high, but probably close.

Country350 -- thanks for the update. I've had to play with my hoses in the back -- had the same thing happen to me-- which is why I suggested checking them for 3PH arm movement restriction.

I know that tractor data listed the cutting height for the GC1705/15s as 1” to 4.7” or4.9”, so 8” is a big jump.

Could someone measure it and see?

Another question is are the u-joints binding at that height on the mid-mount mower?

Sorry, still have my snow blower attached... though I THINK we're done with snow for this year :scratchchin:.... When I switch around, I'll check.

OK, made the switch today, figuring that we're probably safe from snow now.

Measured at full "UP" height, I get 6-1/2" between the cutting edge of the blades and the ground. Keep in mind, however, that this is on a "old" GC2310 with the 2325 MMM. Might be quite different than the new drive-over decks.

Thanks Irving.

Have you ever tried cutting at that height?

5:14:2019.jpg...And maybe I spoke too soon... it's snowing here this morning, though it shouldn't amount to much and ought to melt off quickly-- at least that's my hope!

Yes, I have used the MMM at that height, mainly in rough brushy areas, like under my power line. Like I said, "a poor man's bush hog".... It works quite well to take out any small trees that are trying to get a foothold. Do that maybe once a year.

Thanks just wanted to make sure the mid-pto was not binding at that height.
