Mid PTO options?

My 1989 vintage Ford 1520 has the mid PTO. I don't think it's ever been used. What options exist for using that? I don't have need of a mower deck, but maybe something else?

Couple of possible options, some OEM and maybe some of your own. Front snow blower or broom. You need the front hitch and a front driveshaft. Lookup the number pf splines on the pto stub. New or used parts at estate sales, Craigslist or ebay. A water pump or pto alternator could be handy. Need a driveshaft and a mount system. Try to findout what the running rpm is (usually about 2000).

It's a 2k rpm, not sure on the splines. A front snow-blower would be handy, but I'm not sure I'd get enough use out of one to make it worth the cost. We only get 5 or 6 feet max, and not all at once. A broom sure would come in handy though. My place is covered with ponderosa pines, and the needles sure pile up around here. It'd be nice to have a way to clean that mess up easily. I'm gonna do some searching.

Similar situation. Have mid PTO but no equipment to mount to it. Thought about a snow blower but, simply can't justify such an expense for the little bit of snow we get in KY. Considered mounting a sprayer pump but, that's a once or twice a year process and really not worth the effort. A rear PTO is a lot easier to mount.

Also considered adding an additional hydraulics pump to power the front hydraulics but, really don't need that either so, I guess I'll just leave it as it is. Oh BTW, I also leave my PTO engage all the time. Was told once that doing so would ensure the seals stayed tight.

Any opinions on that?
