Ok so I got the snowblower and sub frame removed but I can稚 get the mid pto shaft off, I have pushed in the circular spring thing at the transmission end and it still won稚 come off what am I doing wrong? Ok I figured it out I was pushing in on the silver spring rather than pulling out on the cup part. Does the subframe always have to come of for the loader though?

"Does the subframe always have to come of for the loader though?" No, it does not, although the subframe ("shoe") WILL pick up snow, and if you have any low rock walls -- or anything solid, it'll hit.

When I need the FEL I just drop off the blower, raise the shoe all the way, then mount the FEL. I also have a piece of a cardboard shipping tube that I use to slip over the square driveshaft on the sub-frame to keep snow out of it. Otherwise, FEL operation will not interfere with the sub-frame at all.
