Anyone recently purchased a MidWest or First Choice core areator? Am I correct that they are made by the same company?

I bought a Midwest in October of '05 IIRC. Don't know if First Choice is made by them.

Well, I can answer my own question..No. According to both companies they are different. Anyone know where I can find one of these. According to the local dealer and Midwest, they are behind on their production. Will be later in summer before even possible. First Choice gave me number for a dealer, which I called at 10:30 a.m., and got a non identifying voice mail. Thats not good. Anyone got any ideas?

Check with a Kyoti dealer. Their aerator is indistinguishable from the Midwest (probably the same unit).

Midwest was making a lot of Kioti implements. I really don't know if they still are or not. As far as First Choice/Midwest, I have a First Choice labeled box blade that is almost 4 years old, it is most definately a Midwest built unit. I also have a Midwest rear blade, with a Midwest label, they are excellent equipment.

Midwest makes implements for Kioti so if the Kioti dealer stocks implements that would be a good option.

I own 3 Midwest implements (box blade, tilt/swivel/angle rear blade, tilt/swivel/angle landscape rake) and I looked at a lot of brands prior to buying Midwest. For a mid-priced brand, it offers a lot of bang for the buck and the brand is also one of the best designed brands on the market. I can't speak to the areator you are looking for, but a 'standard' duty Midwest blade is far better built and far better designed than most other brands 'standard' duty implements. If I was looking for an areator, I would probably just call up a Midwest dealer have have them ship one to me without even considering other brands because I am so confident in their quality.

As a bonus, I believe Midwest is still one of the American made products, it seems like most quality implements are imported from Europe and most discount implements are imported from China. Unfortunately very few implements are made here in North America.

Another brand to consider is Buhler/Farm King. Its made in Canada, mid priced and also well built. I've got a Buhler implement too. I like Midwest better, but Buhler is very good and priced well.

Thanks Bob, but problem is I can't find a MidWest areator. I did call MidWest and he confirmed what the local distributor told me...they are behind in production and it will be later in summer before they could ship. Have you heard of Front Line? I found an areator her locally that has one made by them, but I can't find out anything about them.

Midwest is top notch and they do make units for Kioti and a few others for that matter. I would bet that many of the relationships are not widely know or advertised. I would just start calling around OH and wester PA. You might get lucky. Try the web. Especially eBay, I've see more and more Midwest on eBay lately.
