Looks like a bit more snow tghan we have, SHF, but then you would get a piece of the Lake Effect snow - being 60 miles west of us. Since we rarely ever get that stuff ... we have to suffer with much less snow ... but this last storm was sure ugly ... never seen such wet snow in my life. Of course, being from Alberta ... where the snow is so dry it has trouble melting .....
I'm certainly not looking forward to these next few days with high temps and rain ... I think I may have to buy scuba gear for the mini horses ...

Of course, this morning's forecast is only for 45 degrees on Saturday with rain turning to snow by midday. Good thing it's a weekend. Sounds like it might flood tomorrow night and then freeze after it gets all flat and a couple inches thick.

March is going to be a hard month.

I don't know about you all about it is 70 deg and sunny in So. Md./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Of course I would like to plow snow, and I do like to ski, so I would trade for a FEW days.

Wingnut,

It's raining here and there's been thunder. Brace for it, it's coming your way. Boy, is it sloppy.

Heard the first bit of heavy rumbling about 8:30 AM ... and looking out now ... looks pretty darned wet ... but wife says it's not too sloppy in the pasture yet. I'm sure it will be by the time shake this office dust though.

well, SHF. sloppy is an understatment. The road (trail) out to the barn has, in most places, 6 - 8" of water ... and the storm hasn't passed through yet .... should be a pretty good skating rink by this time tomorrow. I imagine the cold and wind is already hitting you, based on the weather maps. Hope you chained your tractor down.

Same here guys. After last weekends mess now it rained 2" in the last two days and today it's below freezing and winds 50 mph. What a mess!!! I am so ready to move to Arizona!! LOL.

you got it Richard!!!
And to think my wife whined about the one winter she spent in Alberta!
At least back there it usually stayed winter until it was time for spring.
We just started to get the winds ... right in time ... 3Pm ... for once the weather guys were close. Gusting to 50 mph right now ... and 95% of the snow is gone, the ditch's flooded and covering my drive ... guess I'd better check to see where I stored my skates - LOL

haven't heard this week since my source - my mother - is in the hospital recovering from a back operation .... but ... low temps are expected in the winter ... which it still is ... and, her, it's a DRY COLD .... hahahahahah

And I guess I should have not been joking about putting on skates, everything here froze pretty good so black ice everywhere. I went down twice last night (I always walk to the barn and back ... about 1/4 mile) and the second time it was a not-nice experience ... landed on my tailbone with pretty good force and I'm sure limping and flinching today!

Wingnut:

I also like that statement " It's a dry cold "
Hard to keep from laughing when I used to hear it.

With the weird weather patterns, Arizona might wind up being colder than us. Last I heard, they were talking El Nino again. If I recall correctly, in the last one we had a pretty mild winter, but you guys South of us got slammed.
