You should stager the welds but mig is all wrong for what you are doing,especially for your first time using the process. Flipping close to 200 pounds of plate with only those first few stitches will be difficult and dangerous. Since you are experienced on stick why not use stick? That would alow setting up with room underneath to weld overhead and avoid flipping plate. If you can't bring a stick machine to the work or take work to a stick machine,buy a roll of flux-core for this job.
