To make a long story short, I have been a kubota man for 20 years but I live next to a john deere dealership. We stopped the other day to look at their gators, then the dealer drove one over to look at my Kubota X900.

Well we are now talking numbers, what % below msrp can I expect to deal with (if any). I don't need to buy, just have the itch. Would like a little more speed, I am not someone that drives trails, mainly just take the wife and dog for a ride each day.

First looked at the 590m, then someone on another forum said they are harder to work on because of the bed size (engine is pushed more into the cab area). So looking at the 835m cab, msrp is pretty close to the 590 after everything I want.

So bottom line I need some assistance on where I should stand on price. They have already given me a trade in price. I just need to figure out bottom line price.

Thanks in advance

Not on your topic here, but I was glad to see Kubota added a more "main stream" UTV than the tractor like hydro - strictly utility type models of the past. My buddy love's his gator, he's itching for some new Gator model with heat & AC.

If it's anything like what Polaris did with their product line {NorthStar}, it'll be up there in the used Jeep price range and not even be roadable without
spending another $5k-$7k.

My FIL just bought the all new XUV835M, but without the cab. It was just delivered yesterday and I got to drive it around about 45 minutes this morning. The thing is really nice. The suspension is great. I mean really great for just riding around and a bit of a bumpy field. Not talking about desert racing great.

Power steering, power dump bed, the biggest tires they offer, LED headlights, Rear bumper, Tail light protectors, hitch extender...That's most of the options he chose. He said he sat in the cab model and it was like a really nice new truck.

It still has manual rear locking differential, which I prefer, and then a switch for 2WD or 4WD

It has all the wiring in place to add options easily later on.

I really only have experience with an HPX Gator, Electric and gas golf carts, Kubota RTV500, Yamaha Rhino and Viking, so the comparison that would be closest would be the Yamaha viking. I would say this 835M is bigger, wider, and has more creature comfort. Only time will tell if it proves to be as reliable. He got the warranty extended to 4 years for a really low price, because he said we wouldn't have over 800 hours on it in 4 years. Nice of Deere to now offer a cheaper version of extended warranty for those who put low hours on a unit.

One thing I will comment as my own opinion, I prefer the quieter multi-cylinder gas engine, and a belt drive over a hydrostatic transmission. I don't care for a hydrostatic on a side x side, but love it on my 4310 tractor. Different kind of driving/riding than on a tractor. The XUV has downhill engine braking/deceleration, similar but not quite as strong as a hydrostatic.

It has a 2000 lb towing capacity, which is a big stepup over many models.

This thing will go something like 45mph, which I won't be hitting that very often.

How quiet is it? Consider an electric Polaris if you really want to enjoy a ride with the dog and Mrs. I fail to see how anyone can enjoy all those noisy UTVs out there.

We had an electric EZGO, and we liked it, but it was slow, and you couldn't take it somewhere to another ranch without getting range anxiety. Plus, batteries are not cheap every 4 years.

I agree. Love my Kubota 1140 rtv 4 seater for running around our property., but... it is a noisy diesel. I have been playing around with something electric so wifey and I can move around and watch nature. We have pretty hilly land, 95 acres, with miles of trails. How long would an electric gator last, and what about climbing hills ?

I just drive my truck. :)

Don't you just hate off topic replies? ;)

Kyle how did your father in law do on price. What % below msrp did he pay if any. I’m trying to figure what price is fair to both of us.
