I'm sure the BX will amaze you in what it can do!
I've had mine a number of years and have done a lot of projects that I otherwise wouldn't have got done.
A good friend that spent years operating heavy equipment was impressed when he had a chance to give it a try.
One of the big pluses for me is being able to store it inside because it is small enough to fit.
Brakes have never been a strong suit on the 23... I do use mine when I'm parking on a hill and it does hold... it is almost pointless to use
BX23 brakes as brakes... at least in my experience.... also, the tractor can easily overpower the brakes and many, including myself, have driven off with the brakes on... not a good habit.
I'm sure you can improve function by taking up on the brake rods... it's really easy and straight forward and you should notice improved "Parking" brake capability.
I've added a belly plate which I'm sure has saved me when working out in the woods... you should consider adding one if you don't already have it.
Enjoy and remember we like pictures!
To start... make sure the range selector is set to neutral (middle) and be seated... there is a operator sensor in the seat which is sensitive.
One thing to add... be aware that mud can build-up under the fender where the shift levers are located making it difficult to shift and possibly affect the neutral switch alignment... I've found keeping it clean and investigating and not forcing levers works best for me with a little WD40 sprayed on linkages helps.
