Military surplus farm trailer

I have a M105 that I going to swap the axle out on and turn it into a dump trailer. I have been gathering parts for a while now. I have a 7k axle with electric brakes I plan on putting under it. That should bring it lower to the ground.

Nice work on you swap.

I've seen some M105's with the axle replaced with a commercial trailer axle with electric brakes. Makes a much better trailer for a pickup to pull.

Here's one:
M105 as utility trailer

Yep, very true. I've seen guys do that as well, though I've never understood why when for the same money they spend (or less) doing that, they could likely just get an M101A2 / A3 that would match up much better to a normal pickup truck. But, that's why they sell all kinds of different parts, so we can do what ever we like, right?

Closest GL location is Clarksville for me. They don't have very many trailers leave that I have seen. They did have a batch of M1011's a few months ago (I think I have that number right). the M105 go for 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the M101's. The M105 pulls great behind my F250. With some modifiations is will be great to get some stone for the drive and haul around behind the tractor. Plus it give me something to tinker with.

Just checked my local Craigslist:

One M101 at $1000

Nice job

Great story (to read) LOL

Last month I got a M1102, hydraulic brakes. Hauls great behind my Tundra. I mounted a Loadhandler to reduce shoveling.

You can get them off GL auctions in the $500 range pretty consistently. You have a couple of military bases up that way that will have some for sale sooner or later. Patience is the key.

You ever have one of them days when you get soo pissed off that the anger just goes away because you just really don't care anymore? I was there. :mur:

Some days are like that. I sometimes give up and try again the next day when the stars are no longer in alignment and things work out. :D

Entertaining story and nice looking trailer.
