My next door neighbor recently got a Miller 211 and I was over there tonight to put a couple of seat brackets back on the B7500.
We were welding ~1/8" to the sheet metal on the fenders. It originally had 2 spot welds on each side, but they broke at some point and some welded it back together. They didnt have good penetration on either side and they didn't fix the root cause of the problem (the hole for the middle bolt that connects to the transmission was broken).
We removed the old welds (a cold chisel and a couple of taps with a hammer took care of that), ground them smooth, ground off the paint where we were going to weld the brackets to and re-welded the brackets. They now have ~1" of weld up each side, a weld across the top and 1-2 plug welds on the back (where the original spot welds had ripped the metal apart).
He had it on auto-set mode with 75/25 gas, .030 solid wire on 120V and it worked well. Seemed almost like the feed was always a little slow though, but that might have just been me.
