Can anyone help me solve a trouble code with my excavator. Everything works fine until I try to use the 2 speed, then a warning light comes on, the heater/a/c, wiper, radio all quit working. There is a trouble code 64-06.
The problem is intermittant, sometimes everything works fine. Any help will be appreciated. I have a service manual, but nowhere does it have a diagnostic chart for trouble codes. Thanks in advance.

Code 64-06 "Switched Power Relay Short to Ground". Could be the relay itself or somewhere in the harness.

I tried other relays, as they are all the same, and none of them made any difference. I did pull the RH console off and have a quick look, but wasn't really sure what I was looking for. I tested the button and it was ok. I will have a closer look at all the wiring harness under that console again.

You said it happens when you use 2 speed. Start at the 2 speed coil, check for ohm resistance for open circuit or internal short to ground. Do the same at the connection plug in the harness, should have continuity between the power and ground wire.

I ordered a 2 speed coil for it, and then had it do something that it couldn't possibly do with a malfuntioning coil. Seeings I had it ordered, I put it on, but it changed nothing. I will check the harness on this side of the 2 speed, but i'm thinking it has to be on the other side where the momentary switch sends 12 volts to the ecm. Just the other day I hit the button and it shifted into high speed and stayed in high, but the code set and everything else quit. That leads me to believe the problem has to be between the button and the ecm. I am going to check that harness soon. I'll let you know what I find.
