Dozer blade lever, non functioning. Blade now set (froze) in the maximum down position. Control lever moves fore & aft but doesn't influence blade position.

I suspect that the control cable is disconnected, or worse case scenario, broken.

I have removed the access cover on the lever and it appears attached at the "lever end". My question is what panels, skid plates, etc. do I remove to gain access to the other end of the dozer blade control cable?

TIA

Can you remove the cable from the spool shaft and then manually push or pull the spool ?

If the spool is locked in the down position, you might have some loose parts jamming the spool. The cans at the end of the spool might be jammed up by rust or bad parts.

Some loose parts might come from the check valve or pieces of metal or other debris in the fluid.

J_J,

Thank you for your prompt reply. Hydraulic novice here. I assume the spool shaft is at the terminal end of the cable and that is inaccessible & buried behind "armor plate".

That brings me back to my original query (respectfully submitted again)--------------.>My question is what panels, skid plates, etc. do I remove to gain access to the other end of the dozer blade control cable?

I know where the valves on my shid steer and tractor, but not yours.

You really need the manual in order to do and keep up with maintenance on your machine.

Perhaps some that has one like yours and has worked on one might join in here and help you out.

Trace the cable to the end is what I would do.

Thanks again ,j_J.
I'm hoping someone with a Takeuchi TBO16 will respond. I have a very good Operator's Manual (over 200 pages ) . What I need is a service or shop manual. ( only available to authorized repair centers & cost blood )

I finally found the access panel that I needed to remove ( under the rubber floor mat ) to see the break in the control cable . It corroded off right where it connects to the "yoke". A new assembly is on order. The photo doesn't show the actual break 'cause the hoses are so tight I can't safely separate them.

The over lying hydr hoses are so tightly spaced that they can not be separated. They will have to be disconnected to gain work space to connect the new cable. Question: what must one do to safely disconnect the hose fittings?

First, mark all hoses.

I would clean that area and remove hose as necessary to get to the broken one.
