Looking to purchase a mini ex with mulching head. Been going back and forth on the size of ex needed. The top of the list but probably too much of a machine for what I need is the CAT 309 CR. The task at hand is to maintain my forestry land and open up the woods a bit - approx 100 acres. I need to take down many small saplings in the 2-4" range.
I went on to look further at the Kx80 but both the CAT and 80 would be too big for me to tow around. Since mulchers are not a common implement in my area I figured I could make some money on the side doing a couple of brush clearing jobs for people if I could move it around.
Ultimately that brings me to the KX 57. Is this machine big enough to run a mulching head effectively? Not too familiar with other x's in this range as well so open to suggestions.
